A walk in nature walks the soul back home.

In my mindfulness meditation teacher training, one of the core types of meditation we are taught is mindful walking meditation.
Just like eating (that we talked about last week), walking is an activity we often do with an end-result in mind. We hurry from place to place, wanting to "not be late" or to "get things done" and in that state, we can miss a lot. We can miss beauty, and sensation, and certainly, the present moment.
I find mindful walking to be challenging. It's challenging to slow down, to pay attention, especially during an activity that I often do for exercise, with an accelerated heart rate in mind. But, the challenge is a good one. A chance to slow not only the mind, but the body until they are connected in presence and in movement.
I hope you enjoyed mindfully walking with me in both episodes this week: Monday & Friday. I've included a few more mindful walks below so you can find a style that feels right. Happy walking!
